GET SPECIFIC
So now the first thing is that when you are thinking about setting up any type of study routine, you really want to make sure that you are getting really specific. And what I mean by that is that you are making sure that the things that you’re studying are really in line with your big picture vision goals.
So the first thing I would do is I would start to sit down and think, okay, what is it that I’m trying to achieve in my life right now?
DO YOUR RESEARCH
Go online and start searching for courses or programs that are really in line with the goals you have in mind and the things you want to learn.
Figure out exactly what courses you’re going to study and sign up…commit. A lot of people have great intentions of wanting to learn more, but allow life and distractions to get in the way. When you actually have a course or a program to focus on it’s much easier to stick to that deadline and feel like you are actually getting closer to your goals.
And, if you are trying to grow your personal brand, your audience online, or your business, I do have some courses that are available for you. Courses on helping you figure out what you want, helping you to become a leader in your niche, helping you to build your audience, and, of course, your business.
SET DEADLINES
Do yourself a favour and set a deadline. By when do you want to have the course completed?
Once you have a date in mind, it’s time to get really organized with your time.
Like any habit, most people will have the best intention of wanting to learn more, study more. But, if you don’t actually put those dreams into plans, if you don’t make time for them, you’re not going to get very far.
So sit down and have a look at your calendar. Be really realistic about when I’m going to have the time to study and then commit to those sessions, make it a non-negotiable task.
And, to take it to that next level, set yourself automatic reminders, either two hours before or even 24 hours, to prompt yourself that that study time is coming up.
CREATE A STUDY SPACE
Now, I’m super, super passionate about having a space for you to dedicate to your studies. A space that allows you to get more creative, to focus. And I think it’s really important that if you are dedicating time to study that you’re also dedicating space to do your studies.
So whether or not you’ve got an office, just setting up a little space at your dining room table or in your bedroom, create a space that will allow you to really focus and absorb all that you’re taking the time to learn, without distraction.
SHARE WHAT YOU LEARN
There have been lots of studies that have shown that students who know they’re going to need to present the information they’re learning to a class, actually have a higher percentage of recalling the information that they’ve been learning.
So what you want to do is create a space where you can actually continue to teach the things that you’re learning to your audience. Whether that means going live on social media or going on your stories every day and teaching a daily tip. The more you think that you’re going to actually teach the things that you’re learning, the easier it’s going to be for you to recall what you’ve learned.
Even if it means just having an accountability buddy or a study buddy, or grabbing your partner once a week and saying, “Hey, let me teach you the things that I’ve been learning in my courses”.
KNOW WHY
At the end of the day, like anything, it’s just a matter of doing it and knowing why you’re doing it. it’s really easy to get caught up in taking action, but I know from my own experience, especially as someone who creates content online, that the more I learn, the more that I’m actually absorbing and digesting and thinking about and mixing with my own experiences, the more that I’m able to create, the more that I’m able to teach.
