7 mindset habits of successful women you NEED to adopt
I truly do believe that habits are one of those things that you just can’t get enough of.
The more that I learn about habits for success, the more that I feel like sharing them with you. That way, you get the opportunity to just hear that one or two that totally resonates with you.
And if you start applying them, it will have a major effect on your ability to achieve your goals.
So just take note. Do any of them sound like they can really apply to your situation or do any of them trigger you a little bit? Because if they do that might be something that you need to work on.
Today, we’re specifically going to talk all about the mindset, habits of successful women.
These are habits that I’ve seen consistently across all of the successful women that surround me as mentors and as friends.
1) LEAN INTO FEAR
I know this seems obvious at this stage, but a lot of people are still letting their fear determine whether or not they should go towards something. You need to look at this as an indication that you actually care about the thing that you’re moving towards. We don’t have that same psychological fear around things that we just don’t care about because we’re not so worried about it not working out.
If you find that there’s a scenario that doesn’t involve any type of physical danger, but you are still letting fear get the better of you, you need to say to yourself: The reason I’m experiencing this fear is probably because I really care. I really truly do want this thing to be a part of my experience as a human being. And, if that’s the case, you need to lean into that fear.
So the next time you get that indication that you’re feeling fear towards something, explore that a little bit more because there’s probably something there for you to follow.
2) BE RESOURCEFUL
Successful women have an the-information-is-out-there type of mindset. And what I actually mean by this, and particularly the characteristic that I’m talking about here is resourcefulness.
I’ve coached lots of different clients at this stage and one thing I know to be true is that the clients that come to me on the second or third call saying, I researched this, I was looking at this, I was reading about this, or what do you think of this? are the ones that usually achieve success much faster than the ones that are relying on me to give them all the answers.
That is why resourcefulness is just so important. Not just for entrepreneurs, but for anyone trying to achieve any goals in their life. You don’t want to be sitting around waiting for someone to tell you what to do, because the information is out there for you to figure it out yourself.
And I know you might be thinking, well, what’s the point in hiring a coach then? Well, because a coach is going to be there to hold you accountable and to support you and to help you correct your mistakes. But at the end of the day, if you are just sitting around waiting for your boss or your parent or your partner or your coach to tell you exactly what to do, you’re going to be moving at such a slow pace. Be resourceful.
Honestly, anything you want, whether it’s scientific, whether it’s theoretical, whether it’s spiritual, whether it’s personal, like anything you want to learn about, is at your fingertips. So there’s no excuse to sit around, waiting for someone to tell you the exact steps towards success.
3) TRUST YOURSELF
This is insanely important. I actually didn’t realize how important self-trust was until I’m going to say up to six months ago. I always knew that self-belief was important, but when it comes to taking action, self-trust is one of the most important elements of that.
If you want to achieve a goal, whether it’s a health goal, whether it’s a business goal, whether it’s a life goal, you have to trust yourself enough to start taking action. You have to trust that you’re going to at least try your best to be consistent. You have to trust that even if you fail, you’re going to pick yourself back up and keep moving forward.
And so one thing that I really think that you should be working on, if you are trying to better yourself or achieve your goals, is your self trust.
How do you start trusting yourself more? Well, it’s just a matter of taking small steps day by day, through challenging yourself. The more that you lean into that fear and that you come out victorious, the more you’re going to start to trust yourself.
Self-trust and taking action are two major keys to success. When you don’t trust yourself, you’re probably not going to take the action that you need to go towards your goals. So learn how to trust yourself. And when you trust yourself, the action will be a lot easier.
4) DON’T WASTE TIME WITH RUMINATION
I just see so many people thinking over and over what the worst case scenario could be. What if I go live? And no one shows up? What if I launch a program and nobody buys what if I start a YouTube channel and I don’t get any views?
Even if you’ve had failures in the past, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re going to have the failures in the future.
I always think about sex in the city and the episode would Carrie’s writing the book and she dedicates it to Charlotte being like the ultimate optimist. That literally is the mindset that you want to have for your success.
Be the ultimate optimist. No matter what happens, you’re going to keep moving forward. You’re going to keep showing up. You’re going to keep looking for love or looking for success, whatever you’re trying to do, but you’re just going to keep showing up and keep showing up.
5) DON’T EXPECT RESULTS WITHOUT TAKING ACTION
Now this is a big one. I feel like everybody does know that on a conscious level, but then I also feel like a lot of people are secretly hoping that something happens where they don’t necessarily need to show up and take action.
You’re going to get out what you put in. It doesn’t matter if you sit on the manifestation side of the fence or the action side of the fence, at the end of the day, you still have to show up and do the work. Results come from action. There is no other way around it.
So if there is still a slight part of you, that’s kind of hoping that there’s a way around taking action or a way around showing up consistently, check that.
And it’s not just about forcing yourself to take action, you want to find a way to take action and enjoy taking action. If not, then what’s the point? Life is made up of the actions we take, not the results that we achieve. And so what’s the point of constantly slugging towards it, these goals for that moment of happiness and success, when you can instead find a way to enjoy taking action so that your life is made up of enjoyment.
6) ONLY BE IN COMPETITION WITH YOURSELF
It’s come into my sphere a lot lately that I have seen a lot of people being really competitive, specifically around like money and results and like audience growth. And at the end of the day, I think like a healthy dose of competitiveness is okay, like it keeps us moving forward.
But for business and for goal achievement, the number one thing you want to be doing is competing with yourself, you know, trying to show up a
nd be better than the version of you that you were yesterday, trying to constantly grow and build upon that.
The reason why this is so important is because I truly do believe that the person in business that doesn’t have to compete is the winner. Why? Because that person is most likely going to be the most self satisfied.
If I’m trying to, let’s say, look at income goals. If I’m trying to be everybody else out there, I’m so heavily focused on what other people are doing in their lives and in their businesses, I’m forgetting to enjoy my own life and my arm business. Whereas if I’m just trying to get better than I was last month and be a better person than I was yesterday, all of my focus and attention is all inwards, which is so much healthier because I’m not necessarily living vicariously through other people. I’m literally living my own life.
If you are someone who is constantly feeling like you need to be in competition with other people, or if you get your sense of self satisfaction by beating other people, you need to check that or one day you’re going to wake up and not be sure if you’ve built your dream or someone else’s.
What is it that you want? And are you living that life? Who do you want to be and are you becoming that person?
7) KNOW EXCUSES ARE BULL****
I guess the reason why I wanted to bring this one up is because I know a lot of people have really struggled this year, this year being 2020.
I know it has been the most challenging year that I’ve experienced in my time being. However, what this has led me to see is that a lot of people want to use their circumstances as a get out of action, free card. You know, a lot of people are saying, this is my scenario, and therefore I should be able to X.
I’m not saying that I don’t feel absolutely fortunate to have the success that I have, but I also just want to say that I don’t know one person who has success, who’s had it dropped in their lap.
Everybody’s living their own life and everybody has their own excuses. Everybody has their own reasons not to be successful and not to take action and not to work on themselves as much as it can feel like our personal circumstances. And what I just want you to recognize is that you can have your excuses or you can have your results. Those two don’t usually go hand in hand together.
The fact is that the only thing that’s going to get those results for you is purely just taking action, believing in yourself, trusting yourself, working on yourself and taking action.
