Hello Game Changers and welcome back to the podcast, I missed you so much! As you know the podcast took a small hiatus, but we’re back for a killer season two, and I couldn’t be more excited.

I wanted to take some time out to think about the direction to take the podcast in, and honestly, I have a burning desire to sit down and learn from some of the most extraordinary people I know. I want to sit down and pick their brains on how they started their business, built their personal brand, how they stand out online to really dive deep into the inner workings of their mind to bring you as much value as possible.

Today’s episode is an incredible kick-off for season two and this new podcast journey, our podcast guest is one of my all-time favourite people. She’s the fantastic, magical, and extremely high vibe honey, Gala Darling!

Evolving Your Niche and Why it’s so Important

Evolving your niche is something that happens over time and when I feel myself getting bored, I make a move. It’s important not to think “oh I run a fashion blog” it’s not about that, it’s about knowing who your audience is.

My audience is into spirituality, business, stripper heels, twerking and meditation all at once, they want to know about everything I’m interested in so I don’t let one thing limit me.

Gala on her audience – As I evolve they evolve with me. I follow what I’m excited about and some of them come with me and some of them don’t. I pick up some new people along the way and that’s how it goes, don’t limit yourself.

I get people telling me all the time that they followed me in high school, left me for some reason but now they’re back and tapping with me every week. We just can’t take it personally, people are going through all kinds of things that we have no idea about and if they join us that amazing but if they don’t, there’s no hard feelings.

How to Find Your Uniqueness

There are several things, but a really important part of it is learning to be comfortable by yourself.

Learn to spend time by yourself because thats how you figure out what you’re really like and what you really want to do with your time. When you’re around people they’ll influence you, when you’re on your phone you’re influenced, so your alone time is really important.

I’m living alone for the first time since I was 21 and I haven’t lived alone for 14 years. This year that I’ve spent alone, I have refined my vision on what I do and why I do it so well and there’s no other way I could have gotten to this place other than having a lot of time to figure it out.

The next really important thing is cutting people out of your life who are negative, toxic, don’t believe in you, have small visions or small goals.

Gala on the people around you – Whatever your peer groups standards are, will be your standards, so if you want to go hard, you need to people around you that are doing the same things. If all the people around you are comfortable and chill or even worse, they hate their lives.

You’re going to want to fit in with the pack and dull your shine a little bit more and more. You’re not going to want to be too enthusiastic or too excited or successful and it will slowly kill you, plus you’re doing it to yourself. You’ve got to get rid of those people, it’s life or death, especially if you want to be successful.

Strategic Tips on How To Network

One of the great blessings of my life has been the people I’ve met through the Internet.

The Internet is how I meet everybody I know but I hate the term “networking” because really what I do is find people who are interesting and leave them a genuine comment. I will never be the person to try and “network” with someone because they have 5 million followers. I’ll never do that and neither should anyone else, because people can smell it a mile away, it’s so gross, please don’t be that person.

I really only meet up with or hand out with people who I genuinely am so excited about and want to help and promote because people doing good work is really important to me.

I’ve launched my membership site called The Vortex and one of the bonuses of it is that you’re going to be around those people. They’re custom built for you and one this same journey of self-improvement and being unapologetically happy about it.

Perfectionism is Procrastination

Nobody expects you to be perfect, and there’s actually a lot of charm in being a little bit unpolished and raw. In fact, if you look at Beyonce, her team always wants her to be polished but she pushes her team to make her more real and raw. In her documentary, Beyonce talks into her laptop filming on her webcam in an elevator! There’s something real and charming about that so don’t think what your does has to be perfect.

Perfectionism is procrastination, all you’re doing us bullshitting yourself. Just remember that done is better than perfect so get it out the door and you’ll be better for next time but if you never get it done, you’ll NEVER learn or get better.

You have to be OBSESSED with what you do!

I think the reason people pick something to do and then don’t go that deep, is just that they’re honestly not that interested. You have to be OBSESSED with what you do.

If you don’t sleep, eat, breathe it, you will be completely dominated by someone who is enthusiastic about it. If you have two businesses, one makes more money and one you’re really passionate about. ALWAYS go with the one you’re passionate about. Money doesn’t mean shit ultimately, you’ll buy some nice things and then wonder why you hate your life; what’s the point?

You have to do what you love. If you don’t do work that truly matters to you, you’ll NEVER feel fulfilled.
