Brooke’s Self-Love Journey

Pulling from her history of overcoming body dysmorphia and an eating disorder at a young age, Brooke is passionate about helping women learn to step into their power, build their confidence and learn to love themselves, both inside and out.

Through her experiences, Brooke’s been able to start a business based on her massive passion for helping others change their mindset and find their purpose to live a happier and more fulfilling life.

What is Self-Love and How can we achieve it?

Self-love is going to look different for everyone, but essentially it’s the unconditional feeling of love, appreciation and acceptance for yourself. It means that no matter what you do, what decisions you make and where you go in life, you always love yourself with the same strength.

How do you get to the point where you have self-love and acceptance? Unfortunately, like all good things, it requires effort and time to reach, but it’s not as hard as you think, and achieving it is so, so worth it!

Studies have shown that people are overseeing perfectly curated images, they want to be able to relate to you. Don’t get me wrong, those images have their place but if you’re trying to connect with your audience on a deeper level, you have to keep it real with them.

Mental Health for Entrepreneurs

Your physical and mental health should be on the top of your priority list, especially as an entrepreneur. Many people in business think they have to have their shit together because they’re supposed to be the expert and so they have fears around being raw and authentic and sharing the messy side of themselves, but that’s where the magic is.

People want to see the side of you that isn’t airbrushed to perfect. Studies have shown that people are overseeing perfectly curated images, don’t get me wrong; those images have a place online as well. However, if you’re trying to connect with your audience on a deeper level, you have to keep it real with them.

Show them the good and show them the bad to take them on a journey of how you did it. I show my audience me on the couch watching trashy TV, and I show them me struggling with my skin and the negativity I get online. However, I also share the fantastic times that women message me thanking me for my support, for helping them on their self-love journey and building their confidence.

With the good comes the bad but it’s what you focus on that matters. Be grateful for where you are, choose to see the good in life and stay in your lane, focus on YOU!

Self-love and how it builds your business

Even the airlines tell us, we have to put our oxygen mask on first. When we practise, self-love putting ourselves first becomes easier. You’ll start to see that putting your individual needs before your partner, children, parents serves them better in the long-run.

You can’t take care of anyone else properly if you’re not taking care of yourself first.

What legacy do you want to leave behind? That you always looked amazing and were super skinny but not a very happy person OR that you were a fantastic person who cared about others, who loved themselves and was genuinely happy in life?

Taking action without the fear of judgment

There’s no magic pill that’s going to help you love yourself or give you confidence, you have to work on it everyday. Being perfect and creating a facade is not allowing you to put yourself out there, you have to take action in the moment you feel inspired. You don’t always have time to do your hair and makeup and set up a background or be sitting in a recording studio.

You need just to show up, take beautiful messy action and get the job done because we all feel fear. Feeling fear is a natural human response, we don’t want to embarrass ourselves, but we have to feel the fear and do it anyway!

Having Self-Awareness and the desire to Change

Having confidence and self-awareness is about knowing what you need to feel centred, happy and to be living your best life so that you can help others live their best life too. It’s not selfish; it’s essential.
