But first, here is how I set simple, achievable goals.
My Goal Setting Process
Be Specific
Make your goals as specific as possible as to what it is you want to achieve.
Write Your Goals Down
Studies show that you have 40% more chance of actually achieving your goals if you physically write them down.
Check-In
You need to check in with your goals and revisit them as much as you can to ensure you’re on track.
Evaluate Your Progress
When you check in you also need to be tracking your progress to evaluate if your strategies are working or whether you need to reevaluate what you’re doing.
Uncover Your Blocks
Think about why or what is stopping you from achieving your goals. Are you procrastinating or are you stressed or resistant to taking action?
Think about the reasons as to why you may not be taking action so that you can overcome those blocks.
If you have a fear or imposter syndrome then you need to stop coming up with excuses and work on what’s truly holding you back.
Focus on Forming Habits
Think about the person you need to become in order to achieve your goals and try to live as if you are already that person. Focus on forming the habits that person would have in order to achieve what you want.
Let Go Of The How
Don’t get too fixated on the particulars of how you’re going to achieve your goal. If a particular strategy doesn’t work for you, try a different one, don’t think there is only one way to achieve your goals.
Because if you already know how to achieve something then your goals probably aren’t big enough.
For example, I have no idea how I’m going to achieve my goal of a multi-millionaire dollar business but I do know that creating YouTube videos and my group coaching and marketing funnels are going to help so I keep doing them – ultimately you want to leave room for magic and creativity.
Declare Your Goals
The more that you can declare the more you will achieve.
By telling people what your goals are you’re creating momentum and motivation. Even though I know I will ultimately achieve my goal of building a multi-million dollar business, it’s still scary to declare that to you guys, but I do it anyway.
I don’t let self-doubt or fear hold me back because I know I have to put skin in the game.
