How To Wake Up Feeling Fresh

In today’s video, I’m talking about how to wake up feeling fresh!

It’s so important as an entrepreneur or anyone for that matter, to wake up feeling fresh and ready to tackle the day. There have been many mornings when I wake up feeling crap, burnt out and uninspired.

If you’ve been feeling the same way and want to turn things around, here are some really easy practical tips that you can implement into your life.

Have a Shower at Night and Change Your Sheets

The best way to wake up feeling fresh is to go to bed feeling fresh!

By having a shower at night, jumping into a freshly made bed in your favourite pyjamas will help you go to sleep and wake up feeling a little more put together and fresh – helping to really kickstart your day in the morning. 

Manage Your Time Before you Bed

Replace lying in bed scrolling on your phone with a nice, relaxing nighttime routine.

A nighttime routine can really help you drift off into a quality nights sleep. Instead, of scrolling, run yourself a warm bath with a few drops of lavender oil, make yourself a warm chamomile tea or do some gentle stretching in bed.

By doing these things in the dark you’re allowing the melatonin, that is produced by the pineal gland in the brain, to increase, allowing you to drift off to sleep. 

If you’re constantly stimulated by the TV or looking at your phone screen, your quality of your sleep will be terrible and will ensure you wake up feeling crap aka not fresh.

Calculate Your Sleep Cycle

A lot of people get caught up in getting eight hours of sleep every night which isn’t necessarily essential for everyone. What’s more important is having a certain number of sleep cycles, which last for roughly ninety minutes each.

A sleep cycle is when you come out of deep sleep into a lighter sleep cycle aka REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement sleep). To wake up feeling refreshed you need to ensure that you’re not waking up in one of your deeper cycles of sleep.

To do this you can download a sleep app like Sleep Cycle or sleepyti.me.

These apps feature patented technology that can track and evaluate your sleep patterns using sound or vibration analysis. It can also wake you at the optimal time so you feel less groggy and more fresh in the morning!

Having Something to Look Forward to

By having something to look forward to in the morning you are more inclined to jump out of bed and be excited for whatever it is you’re looking forward to. I live for my morning coffee but for you, it might be some morning yoga or a yummy breakfast you made the night before.

Set goals for your day or just have something to get you excited to jump out of bed in the morning!
